Utah is an expansive state, which encompasses busy towns and cities with a rolling landscape. Perhaps one of the nicest towns is Provo, which has a population of around 105,170 people. The town was first established in the spring of 1849 by Mormon pioneers who were under the direction of Brigham Young. On the 3 rd of April, 1849, construction of a fort on the south bank of the Provo River was started, three miles east of Utah Lake. In 1850, the settlers decided to move to higher ground. Blocks of four acres were split into parcels for homes. By January 31 st of the same year, Provo City became the county seat for Utah County. And the rest, as they say, is history.

If you are looking to buy a home in this delightful town, then you will need to speak to a few Provo real estate agents about the various properties that are available on the market. You should also discuss with the Provo real estate agents the various aspects of the town that you are thinking of moving to, in order to find out more about its employment opportunities, educational system, and general community.

Perhaps the strongest pull of the town is its known capacity for jobs. Voted within the top ten “Best places for business and careers” by Forbes, and ranked the No.1 entrepreneurial city by the National Commission for Entrepreneurship, this is an ideal town for people who want to focus on their careers. In addition to this, Cognetics ranked Provo as the nation’s fourth best metropolitan area for small business. All of this shows that Provo is a town dedicated to employment, entrepreneurs, business, and hard work.

Provo real estate agents may also point out to potential buyers that the town is an ideal place for young people to live, as the median resident age here is only 22.9 years old. There are many young families in the area, and the average family size is 3.40. Not only this, but houses in Provo are relatively cheap. The median house price range is around $185,000, although it should be noted that more people rent a home rather than own one in Provo (57.4% and 42.6% respectively). This is due to the large student population.

Another thing that Provo real estate agents should inform their clients of is the town’s many recreational activities, including golf courses, public tennis courts, public parks, softball complexes, laser tag, and Olympic-sized ice skating rinks. In addition to this, residents can go hiking, swimming, fishing, biking, boating, camping, skiing, or hunting (nearby Utah Lake makes the water activities possible). They can even grab a game of volleyball or bowling, or visit one of the sixty-six movie theaters, or the town’s water park ( Seven Peaks).

The town is also a good cultural center, and offers a wide variety of museums and live theatrical venues. In fact, Brigham Young University has a first class art museum that has housed world-renowned exhibits like the Etruscan Exhibit from the Vatican and the Masada and Dead Sea Scrolls.
